BALA HISSAR
The Fort Balahisar in the Walled City of Peshawar he fort sits on a high mound in the northwestern corner of Peshawar city. Historians have widely been confused about the origin of the place.

GOR KHATRI
The celebrated Chinese pilgrim, Hiuen Tsang, who visited Gandhara in the early 7th Century CE, had paid glowing tribute to the city and the Great Stupa of Kanishka in his memoirs. He also talked about a site, which many historians argue, refers to Gor Khatri where “Buddha’s giant bowl was kept”.
Mughal Emperor Babar, who recorded its importance in his autobiography, visited the place. He had heard stories about Gor Khatri, a holy place of the yogis and Hindus who came from long distances for pilgrimage. Jehan Ara Begum, the daughter of Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan, converted Gor Khatri into a caravanserai (inn for travellers) and named it Sarai Jahanabad. She also constructed a Jamia Masjid, a sauna bath and two wells for the convenience of travellers.

MAHABAT KHAN MOSQUE
Mahabat Khan Mosque is a 17th-century mosque in Peshawar built in 1630. It is named after the Mughal governor of Peshawar Nawab Mahabat Khan who served under Emperors Shah Jehan and Aurangzeb and who was the grandson of Nawab Dadan Khan. The name of the Masjid and the governor who built is consistently mispronounced as ‘Muhabbat Khan’ (‘Love Khan’) by the public instead of ‘Mahabat Khan’ (‘Awe-inspiring Khan’).

PESHAWAR MUSEUM/ VICTORIA MEMORIAL HALL
The Peshawar Museum was founded in 1907 as Victoria Hall in the memory of Queen Victoria. The two-story building was built in a union of different styles of architecture from the sub continent.. This Museum is widely known for its amazing collection of Buddhist artwork discovered and found in the ruins of Gandhara monastery and temples dating from the ancient Gandhara Empire.

ISLAMIA COLLEGE
Islamia College Peshawar is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Pakistan established in 1913. Its historical roots are traced from the culminating point of the Aligarh Movement.
Its beautiful building, which is the best embodiment of Muslim civilisation in south Asia and its lush green lawns attract visitors from all over the country. The credit of this establishment goes to Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum, who is commonly called The Sir Sayyed of the Frontier and his sincere colleagues.

GOVERNOR HOUSE
The Peshawar Governor House was build under British Raj in Greco-Roman Style. It was commissioned in the 20th century and is a beautiful building with gardens and lush green lawns.
