Bun Kebab

Bun kebab is a traditional Pakistani street food item and is found all around the country. This savory snack typically consists of a bun filled with a combination of shami kebab, chutney, raita, slices of onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

The filled bun is then seared until nicely colored and crispy. Chicken, beef, and mutton, along with the vegetarian chana dal (split chickpea kebab) and daal aloo (spicy lentil and potato kebab) patties comprise the typical selection of kebabs used in the preparation of bun kebab.

Optional additions include egg omelets, tamarind sauce, cheese, and bacon. In Pakistan, bun kebab is usually enjoyed hot, cut in half and accompanied by ketchup or other sauce and fries.

Dahi-Bhallay

Dahi Bhallay is a flavorful snack that is popular throughout Pakistan. It is prepared with a combination of lentils and various spices, which is then deep-fried in hot oil. It is served with yogurt and topped with onion, chutney, crisps, and more spices. It is prepared in front of you and people can add extra of the topping or skip them. The spicy sour taste makes it a perfect vegetarian snack that we can resist.

Chaat

Chaat is a perfect snack made with chickpeas and vegetables including potato, onion, and tomatoes. Tamarind chutney and Chaat malasa (a combination of spices) is added to give it a spicy-sour taste. different varieties of this dish exist as people love to add the different fried or boiled items to it. Chaat is available at most street vendors, restaurants in Pakistan.

Paratha and Puri

Golden-brown in color, flaky and layered, paratha is a type of Pakistani flata bread that is typically consumed for breakfast. It prepared with whole wheat flour which is then layered by ghee and cooked with oil. Many types of Paratha in Pakistan are famous which include stuffed paratha. stuffing can be chicken, cheese, mincemeat, etc. These are a whole meal and a must-try.

Puri are also thin flatbread which is consumed fr breakfast. They are deep-fried and are oily but soft and fluffy. Paratha and Puri are often eaten with a meal, a snack or even with eggs.

Naan

Naan oven-baked flatbread prepared in Pakistan in circular clay oven. Naan is consumed daily in Pakistan with every meal. Naan stops are present all over the region. These naans are eaten hot and also comes in many varieties. You must order these with your meal. Stuffed naan are also becoming popular and have a huge variety. Stuffing can be cheese, chicken, beef mince, and even Nutella. These stuffed naans are often ordered with tea.

Samosa

Samosa are deep-fried, triangular pastries are filled with a variety of ingredients ranging from vegetables to meat, such as onions, lentils, spiced potatoes, peas, or ground meat. they are crunchy from outside and yummy delicious inside. Vegetable samosa, Potato Samosa, and meat Samosa are the different varieties of it.

These savory triangles are typically served hot with tea as a snack. But they can be turned into a plate to yummy Samosa Chaat which is prepared by adding vegetable toppings, chutney, and yogurt to Samosa.

Pakoray

Pakoray is a deep fried snack made with gram flour, vegetables, and spices. They are crispy and crunchy and taste amazing. Only when you are done eating you will realize that you ate too many of the Pakoras. Pakora is prepared at home and available at street vendors. These are a must-try snack and very different from the rest.

Shawarma and Roll Paratha

Although Shawarma is not a traditional Pakistani, we have made it ours. We love a roll of yummy deliciousness. Sharma and roll paratha vendors are often close by if one is not selling both. Shawarma is less spicy and oily while Roll paratha is an oily and spicy treat. If you don’t feel like having a big Pakistani dinner then you should have a Shawarma or a Roll Paratha.
