Islamabad city has many fun activities for families to do alothough with kids. Islamabad attracts many families and offers many fun activities which include hiking, parks, tea-house to chill at, restaurants, go-karting, boating, fishing, zoo, etc. all these can be entertaining to families with young children. Although there are many small and big parks to go with children here we have listing activities to do within Islamabad city.

Sightseeing

Faisal Mosque:

Places to go sightseeing within Islamabad are all child-friendly as nothing inappropriate is on display in museums. Faisal Mosque is peaceful and a place where many people like to come with children. The architecture is fascinating and very unique when compared to Mosques in general.

Islamabad Monument:

Islamabad Monument is built to celebrate the unity within Pakistan’s different people and provinces. The museum along with the structure offers a complete history of Pakistan and its independence.

Saidpur Village:

One of the oldest and original villages remaining of the old Islamabad is Saidpur Village. Since Islamabad became Pakistan’s capital in 1960 before there were many small villages in the area. A Hindu temple and a gurdwara are the sites that show the history of people who have lived on this land. A small picture gallery showcases the transformation of the area into the Capital city. Surrounded by desi food restaurants it is a perfect place to go for food and some history.

Lok Virsa Museum:

Lok Virsa museum showcases Pakistan’s history, culture, and folk art. The museum is quite big and might take hours to visit. Art lovers and people interested in folk culture will love this place especially children and young people. Divided into sections to represent the diverse culture from different provinces and territories of Pakistan. It hosts events for the promotion of folk heritage from all across Pakistan. It also features shops where Pakistani artifacts are displayed and sold.

Hiking and Trekking

Margalla Hills is one of the best destinations for hiking and trekking. Trail 2 is the best choice for everyone who wants to visit the Daman-E-Koh viewing point. As this area has become home to numerous monkeys, locals informally call it “the trail of animals”. The walk will take 1 – 2 hours. Participants reach the viewing point and then can walk somewhat further to see a hidden gem – the remains of 202 AirBlue airplanes. Trail 3 is the most popular choice, but travelers need to keep in mind that this trail has many stiff slopes. Having reached Daman-E-Koh, vacationers can continue their walk and visit Pir Sohawa. There are three restaurants that are great for relaxing and having a light meal. Trail 5 also reaches Pir Sohawa, but this trail is quite complex and it is easy to get lost there. Trail 5 together with a guide. However, experienced rangers can try to do that alone

Boating and Fishing

Rawal Lake, which is located not far from Shakar Parian National Park, is a great place for boating and fishing. Lake view park is built on one side of the Rawal lake inside the park there is an amusement park, kids playground, a bird aviary, and tracks for ATV and go-karting. Within the park, there are food stalls and small restaurants. The best time is to go is on a cool day and during summer the evenings are the best time. Since people from the twin city come here for the weekend and day off, it gets very crowded.

Golf Course

Golf courses in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are really great and well kept. The Golf course can be booked for private games. Golf courses include the Islamabad Club and the Rawalpindi Golf Course. There is a mini-golf in Bahira town along with a beautiful restaurant.

Zoo

There are many zoo in Pakistan where one can see animals including elephants and big cats (lions, panther, cheetahs, even tigers) which young kids would love to see. Apart from that many different animals native to Pakistan are kept there including zebra, deers, ostrich, monkeys, eagales are kept. Islamabad zoo and Bahria enclave zoo are fun places to go see and learn about animals and birds.

Food

For food there are many restaurants that are family-friendly and have many different options to choose from. Monal on the Margalla hills is famous for food with an amazing view of the city. Each night there is live Pakistani music playing. Other BBQ places within the city also provide desi food with live music and a friendly environment.
